It’s time.

I appreciate you giving me the time I needed to grow, experiment, and find the direction for my 2nd album.. And I have.
Along the way I’ve recorded at least 4 albums worth of material, lots of it being unfinished demo versions waiting to be polished up, some of them are great songs and important stories that just won’t make the album (either they don’t fit Sonically, don’t fit Theme, or there’s just not enough space) .

Tonight, I want to give you a few of these songs because you deserve them. It’s hard as fuck for me to keep all this music from you for so long, so I know it’s been hard for you to wait. Thank you for your patience. Vibe out to these songs in their raw form, no polish.. just a lot of my soul..

The wait is over.

Truly Yours,

Born Sinner

Truly Yours

PS- 1st single coming this week. The album is hands down my best work yet. Can’t wait to share.

Vibe is celebrating their 20th year anniversary and what better way to show off their long run of existence than have the Queen of Hip-Hop Soul cover their new issue. In the new issue Vibe talks to Mary J. about everything from her style, her evolution of music who is she liking right now in R&B  and more.

Let’s talk about current R&B. How do you feel when you turn on the radio?

Maybe in 2012, in the middle, I was like, “What is going on? What is this?” Things got worse before they got better. I think things are going in the right direction. I am so proud of what Rihanna is doing.

Wait, really?

Yes. She is speaking to her generation, and she’s living her life in front of them. I don’t even think she’s purposely doing it (7). She’s such a beautiful girl, and I don’t think she knows she’s that beautiful (8). She’s just living her life, and leading her generation, and she has great, great songs. Her career is amazing; and her team, obviously, is amazing.

People give her a hard time because of the whole Chris

They give her a hard time because she’s living her life. As long as she’s having fun and isn’t three minutes away from wanting to shoot herself, good! I want her to be happy. That’s impressive to me. And I love her songs. Adele also gives me hope. God bless Amy Winehouse. She was just the perfect thing.

What about male artists?

Drake is amazing. He is an amazing writer: great songs, great melodies. And Kendrick Lamar has a classic album right now. Classic. It’s like The Chronic. I’m not saying it is The Chronic. But you know how that album felt like a movie, with a beginning, middle and an end? His album has that same thing. I also love Bruno Mars. They need to take him seriously. He. Is. A. Problem. And Miguel is amazing. His voice; his writing. All of his songs are beautiful. He is pure inspiration.

So where is your head at these days? The last album, the last two, were your “Mary’s Happy Now” moment. What about now?

I’m all about making the right kind of music for where I’m at in my life right now, and where I’m going. I’m wrapping my mind around it, and thinking about what people need from me right now.

While the promotion for her comeback album “Two Eleven” was a little disappointing Brandy still continues to plug her album with her latest stop at the BET Honors award show. Unlike her most recent appearances decided to finally five Put it down and Wildest Dreams  a rest and  gave us a vocal slaying performance for her song “Without You”  I’m hoping Brandy decides to finally release this song as a single because she really killed this performance her vocal ability while singing this song was truly magical but we can only wait and cross our fingers B and her team start doing more with this album.

Beyonce’s latest magazine cover for Vouge appeared on the internet this weekend and it didn’t take long for the full spread to surface on the internet which it did today. In the new spread Beyonce finally opens up more about her upcoming album which we are all anticipating and how it actually feels to be a mother to her 1 year old daughter Blue Ivy.

“I felt very maternal around eight months,” she remembers. “And I thought I couldn’t become any more until I saw the baby. . . . But it happened during my labor because I had a very strong connection with my child. I felt like when I was having contractions, I envisioned my child pushing through a very heavy door. And I imagined this tiny infant doing all the work, so I couldn’t think about my own pain. . . . We were talking. I know it sounds crazy, but I felt a communication.”

Life Is But a Dream does attempt to set portions of the Beyoncé record straight. At one point it addresses—and debunks—the peculiar rumors that Beyoncé was faking her pregnancy and was instead secretly using a surrogate. Today, the gossip bewilders her more than it angers her. “That was very odd,” Beyoncé says now. “Who even thinks that? Like, who would make that up. . . . You can’t take it too seriously.”

Beyoncé says her new music “is a lot more sensual . . . empowering.” It celebrates being a wife and a mother, reflecting the obvious changes in her life. “Right now, after giving birth, I really understand the power of my body,” she says. “I just feel my body means something completely different. I feel a lot more confident about it. Even being heavier, thinner, whatever. I feel a lot more like a woman. More feminine, more sensual. And no shame.”

Beyoncé recorded much of her upcoming album (which she compares to a blend of her last album, 4, and 2008’s I Am . . . Sasha Fierce) this past summer in New York’s Hamptons, where collaborators included Timbaland, Justin Timberlake, and The-Dream, and the vibe was beachy and relaxed. “We had dinners with the producers every day, like a family,” she says. “It was like a camp. Weekends off. You could go and jump in the pool and ride bikes . . . the ocean and grass and sunshine. . . . It was really a safe place.”

Kelly Rowland is set to have a great year after joining Beyonce and Michelle for a very much needed Destiny’s Child mini reunion Kelly has decided to reboot her campaign for her new album which was previously titled “Year Of The Woman.” Last night Grammy interviewed Ms. Rowland about her upcoming project which she has now changed the title to Talk A Good Game. While no date has been set Kelly revealed a little more about her upcoming album in the clip below.

“Funny enough, I would say now that I’ve listened to the album again as a whole and decided to change the title,’ Rowland reveals. “I think that just going back into the studio and working with Dream and working with Kevin Cossom and all these incredible writers, just really in putting everything together, because I recorded around 50 songs, maybe 50, 55 songs, and to condense everything it now tells a story of…the title is ‘Talk a Good Game.’ So I’m really excited, and I really actually wanna play you the record.”
