Last week we put out the news that Kelly Rowland has officially left her label at Universal Republic and this week the Talk A Good Game singer has come out publicly with her decision to leave her label who she released 2 album with. In a recent interview with Huffpost Kelly talked about her upcoming 5th album which she is currently recording for when asked why she left Universal Kelly said

“I feel like right now, I just needed something new and I’ve earned the right to make my own choices and make my own decisions,” said Kelly. “I wish them well, they wish me well. No hard feelings, I just needed a fresh, new start.”

While Kelly has a lot of label deals on the table she is not in any rush a deal yet as she is just in the studio and being inspired to create great music. Kelly may not have joined a new label yet but she has signed a new deal with Caress as the new face of their spring line.

Despite the many rumors about Kelly Rowland being dropped from her label at Universal Republic, the truth finally has come out today. The former Destiny’s Child singer actually requested to be released from her contract after frustrations with her label home. Kelly has been a free agent since December of 2013 when her label mishandled the promotion of her recent album Talk A Good Game which has sold only 215,000 copies since it’s release last summer.

Entertainment specialist Jawn Murray was told by a source that Kelly Rowland’s team asked the label to release a new single to capitalize off the eight million viewers the show averaged each week. The label chose not to capitalize off of Rowland’s involvement on the show and the singer asked to be released from her contact. Kelly Rowland is now recording music for her 5th solo album and has been entertaining new offers from record companies interested in signing her.

I knew after all the success Kelly has been doing at coming into her own identity as a music artist  that UMG wouldn’t just drop her it had to be more to the story and I’m glad the truth came out. Now we just have to wait to hear the news about Kelly signing a new record deal I just have this feeling something with ROC nation would be involved in Kelly’s near future, I could be wrong but I just have that feeling it would only make sense.  Source

Yesterday Kelly, Kanye and J.Cole released their brand new albums all on the same day and since the news came out that they all were going to put out their albums on June 18th everybody was wondering who would sell the most. Well today the projected sale predictions hit  Kelly Rowland’s Talk A Good Game is projected to see around (60-65k) Roc Nation’s first signee J.Cole is projected to sell around (290-315k) and Kanye West Yeezus is projected to sell around (375-400k).  Looks like even with little promotion and no radio air time  Kanye still comes out on top with J.Cole not so far behind.
