Remy Ma and Lil Kim gave the world an explosive collaboration last week when Remy unleashed her long-awaited new solo single, Wake Me Up. Today the two do it again as Rem dropped the gritty and glamorous visual.

“Wake Me Up” samples Lil’ Kim’s “Queen Bitch” from her debut album Hard Core. The new single is one of many that will appear on Remy’s forthcoming sophomore album, 7 Winters & 6 Summers, due out early 2018. More videos are set to follow. Remy has said that she’s filming visuals every two weeks and that her next single will feature Chris Brown.

The wait is finally over! After much anticipation, Remy Ma has unleashed her brand new single “Wake Me Up” featuring Lil Kim. Over a thumping instrumental, Remy pays homage to Lil Kim as she sampled her classic Hard Core track, “Queen Bitch.”

After the song debuted on Apple music, Remy spoke about her new track saying “I wanted to pay homage to Kim,” she said. “I feel like she is the Madonna of the hip-hop world. Her style is iconic and I wanted to pay homage to that. I was like, ‘I want you on this record, but I want you to just be Kim. I want you to be the girl that was squatting down in a leopard thong.’”

Remy’s Long awaited new album 7 Winters & 6 Summers, is due in early 2018 on Columbia Records.

Lil Kim is back and she is not playing this time around! After announcing her collaboration with Remy Ma earlier this week, the Brooklyn rapper took today to unleash her buzz track “Took Us a Break.” The new track references Kim’s 12-year hiatus from the rap game since her studio album The Naked Truth.

Not only did Kim give her fans music worth waiting for, she also dropped off the twisted black and white visual. I can’t wait to see what else Kim has in store for us. It took her a while to find her direction with her new music as many artists do but, this new single proves Kim still has it and she is not here to play around.

Last night Vh1 aired “Hip Hop Honors,” which returned after a six-year hiatus, with its triumph return, it was only right that Vh1 honor the women in rap music. The ceremony special gave praise to artists such as Missy Elliott, Lil Kim, Salt-N-Peppa and Jersey’s own Queen Latifah. The Rap Pioneers were honored by some of their closest friends and collaborators.
Not only was it Lil Kim’s birthday yesterday, but the Queen B also had another reason to celebrate as she was honored at the 2016 Hip Hop Honors. Faith Evan’s kicked off the Lil Kim Tribute as she gave a great introduction before Lil Mama and Dej Loaf, started things off with Crush on You, sporting Lil Kim signature colored wigs. Teyana took over the night as she gave her best impression of Lil Kim as she performed “No Time.” Kim’s current tour Mates The Lox arrived on the stage to perform “It’s All About the Benjamins” joined by no other than Teyana Taylor who hit the stage for the second time.

Later that night Lil Kim hit the stage herself, while she did forget some of the lyrics to her own son Queen B!tch it wasn’t as nearly as bad as Rich Homie Quan who forgot Notorious B.I.G.’s verse on Junior M.A.F.I.A.’s “Get Money,” which caused Lil Kim to finish out the verse. The rest of the night took a turn for the better and Lil Kim and Dej loaf closed out the ceremony with her hit “Lighters Up.”
