A couple of weeks ago the legendary artist Missy Elliott hinted on dropping a new single called “Throw It Back” and one of her loyal fans spilled the tea of the sound of the record which got her fans extremely excited and they started a campaign to get fellow rapper Cardi B on it as they felt that together they would have great chemistry and their energy is fun and energetic so a record together would be perfect and Missy herself expressed that she would be open to that idea and she’s quite fond of cardi B`s energy and music.

“Queen of Hip-Hop Soul” Mary J. Blige has just dropped her 13th studio album simply titled “Strength of a Woman” which follows up her highly underrated album “The London Sessions” which saw her delivering a solid vocal performance over British electronic beats and the writing was stunning. On this album she delivers her most rawest and most personal material to date, she is in so much pain yet she rebuilding herself into a even stronger version of herself, not letting her divorce from her husband (Martin ‘Kendu’ Isaacs) of nearly 13 years break her.

Last night Vh1 aired “Hip Hop Honors,” which returned after a six-year hiatus, with its triumph return, it was only right that Vh1 honor the women in rap music. The ceremony special gave praise to artists such as Missy Elliott, Lil Kim, Salt-N-Peppa and Jersey’s own Queen Latifah. The Rap Pioneers were honored by some of their closest friends and collaborators.

The show kicked off honoring Missy Elliott with a medley of her hits as Remy Ma started things off when she performing “Work It” before Nelly Furtado took the stage to “Get Ur Freak On.” The host of the night Eve hit the stage as she performed her verse on “Hot Boyz,” followed by Trina who did her part to “One Minute Man.” Remy Ma came back on stage to close things out as she performed Missy Elliott’s latest single “WTF (Where I’m From).”

Things didn’t end there for Missy, as Fantasia, Monica, and Tweet celebrated Missy later in the evening with an R&B medley of “Free Yourself,” “So Gone,” and “Oops (Oh My).” The ladies then joined forces for a brief portion of “Lady Marmalade.”
