The wait is finally over! Singer Elle Varner has finally unleashed her full-length project since her 2012 debut LP Perfectly Imperfect. Executive produced by Varner, Ellevation features production from Nascent, Jordan Ware, Jason Avalos, and Los Hendrix. The new project also includes guest appearances from rappers Wale and Rapsody. Elle’s new album includes the two previously released singles “Loving U Blind” and “Pour Me”

Along with the release of her new project, Elle has also unvieled the video to her single Kinda Love

GRAMMY Award-winning rapper COMMON will release his new album Let Love on August 30, 2019, his debut for Loma Vista Recordings. In tandem with this announcement, he shared his latest single and music video “Hercules” feat. Swizz Beatz. On the track, Common serves up his sharp signature wordplay between soulful backing vocals from Swizz Beatz. Meanwhile, the music video directed by Carrick Weezer sees Common thwart a convenience store robbery caught on surveillance camera—in between rapping into his iPhone. Vince Staples makes a cameo as the cashier.

“Hercules” follows on the heels of the recent single “HER Love” featuring Daniel Caesar, special guest Dwele, and an unreleased beat from J Dilla. COMMON will kick off his Let Love Tour, which starts in Denver, Colorado at Cervantes’ Masterpiece Ballroom tonight, and continues through marquee venues in the US and Canada before touring Europe for the first time since 2014. Special guests include Nicole Bus, July 11 –July 26, and Maimouna Youssef aka Mumu Fresh, August 7 – August 29.

Last night Megan Thee Stallion set late night tv on fire when she made her Jimmy Kimmel debut. The hot girl performed a medley of her stand out singles. Kicking things off with Realer which was included in her most recent mixtape Fever, Meg then performed her most popular song Big Ole Freak.

Singer/actress Halle Bailey made headlines yesterday when Disney announced that the young singer will star as Airel in the live-action remake of The Little Mermaid. “After an extensive search, it was abundantly clear that Halle possesses that rare combination of spirit, heart, youth, innocence, and substance — plus a glorious singing voice — all intrinsic qualities necessary to play this iconic role,” said director Marshall said in a statement.

While her latest role made headline news, on the singing side Halle and her sister Chole who just celebrated her 21st birthday, took this week to unleash the video for Who Knew. One of two songs released from Chloe x Halle’s Grown-ish collection last month. Chloe x Halle are working on their follow-up to 2018’s The Kids Are Alright, which was nominated for Best Urban Contemporary Album. Check out the video below.

The video then follows Cardi going to court for the crime. Sporting a variety of high-fashion looks at her trial, Cardi leaves the courtroom a bloody scene in front of the judge. Today, GRAMMY® Award-winning rapper Common unveils a new single and music video entitled “HER Love” featuring Daniel Caesar and special guest Dwele. “HER” is short for “(Hip-Hop in its Essence is Real)” and was first introduced on 1994’s “I Used To Love H.E.R.” For the event-level track, he unites with prominent forces from different eras of the culture to deliver a timeless dedication to hip-hop with “HER Love” buoyed by Dilla and a soulful hook from Caesar. Delivering a rap “State of the Union,” his bars detail the evolution of hip-hop throughout the past 25 years, complementing how he first commented on the genre in 1994 and bringing everything full circle.

After taking a moment to celebrate his impending second season on ABC’s Grown-ish, Diggy Simmons has returned with not one but TWO VIDEOS from his sophomore project. Diggy Simmons is on a roll. Not only did he release his first project in nearly a decade but he completed his first season as a full-time cast member on ABC’s Grown-ish. Today Diggy brings a revisionist approach to blackness with an emotionally charged visual that shows the dichotomy of both loving someone and black boy joy.

Both videos are cinematic in prose, and feature idioms of culture and extend warmth well-beyond what you would presume the 23-year-old rapper would comprehend. This is Diggy’s world and we’re just living it.

Masego and FKJ may have dropped Tadow last year, but the two return this year to celebrate the one year anniversary of the song. Produced by Psycho Films and directed by Joe Weil, the “Tadow” video shows Masego using his instrumental skills to charm his lady co-star during a walk around the park.

We will def hearing more from Masego. Besides releasing his debut album Lady Lady, he recently contributed to Ari Lennox’s debut album Shea Butter Baby on the song “Up Late.”
