With nothing but pushback dates, failed singles and canceling the remaining of her Joyride tour, it seems like Tinashe’s long-awaited LP Joyride might see the light of day this year. Taking to social media, Tinashe revealed a short clip of Televisions set up like a cross saying “If my life was like a movie I’d need 50 sequels.”

While no official word has been annoucned about Tinashe’s new music. I just hope we can expect something really good. Her Aquarius album was a solid debut, it just seems like Tinashe is having a hard time making the follow up to that album. Here’s to hoping 2018 treats her a little better than before.

When Tinashe first dropped her hit single “2On” back in 2014, most would have thought this was going to be the new It girl, but things did not go as planned. When Tinashe announced that she will be releasing her sophomore album Joyride, the singer has had a hard time finding the rescues she did with her first album Aquarius.

In a new interview with The Guardian, Tinahse spoke about being a women and music and why she feels her career has stalled.

“There are hundreds of [male] rappers that all look the same, that sound the same, but if you’re a black woman, you’re either Beyonce or Rihanna. It’s very, very strange,” the singer says. “There’s colorism involved in the black community, which is very apparent. It’s about trying to find a balance where I’m a mixed woman, and sometimes I feel like I don’t fully fit into the black community; they don’t fully accept me, even though I see myself as a black woman. That disconnect is confusing sometimes. I am what I am.”

“It’s definitely been discouraging, and I have days where I’m less confident, but at the end I know that I’m going to get to where I need to go.” “There’s doubt that seeps in, there’s self-deprecation, because you look to someone to blame and you can’t blame anyone but yourself, but I’ve never, ever thought, ‘I’m going to work in a mall.’”

While I do believe women in music get compared a lot more than men, I also believe Tinashe’s set back has to do with her music. On one had it seems like Tianshe want’s to take over the R&B/Hip-Hop lane but then on the other hand she wants to concur the pop world while still trying to be an alternative artists. When it comes to her music, music lovers and fans are just confused as to what her sound is exactly.  We know that artists hate being placed in a box but, sometimes that box helps identify what lane that artist is going in especially with new artists. Tinashe is very talented but she is struggling to cultivate a loyal fan base.

Just a few days after releasing her  remix to her song “Slumber Party” featuring Tinashe, Britney Spears wasted not time with unveiling the video today.  The two turn up the sexy in the new visual directed by Colin Tiley.

With each video that keeps dropping Britney Spears seems to be getting more comfortable and some what returning to her old self. I still wish she could dance like she use to back in her Slave for you day’s but, I am glad to see Britney  not looking so stiff and awkward on camera, Tinashe definitely held her own while co-starring along side her idol even thought we all know she could go off more than what she gave us. Check out the new clip below.

While we all might have to wait a little while longer for Tinashe’s sophomore album Joyride, the singer aims to please her fans for patently waiting by unleashing her new full length project “Nightride.” Tinashe’s surprise project will serve as a prequel to Joyride, before releasing the new LP Tinashe wrote a brief explaining the release of Nightride.

During this past week Tinashe teased her fans via instagram by unleashing various clips leading up to the announcement of her 15 track mixtape. Check out the official tracklist below.

After reading Tinashe’s letter, it sounds like to me that the songs on Nightride were supposed to be on her sophomore album Joyride, but things changed, either Tinashe or her label wanted to take her follow up album in another direction. Whatever the case may be, I’m glad Tinashe decided to release something, rather than keeping us all waiting and eventually becoming less interested in her music.Check out the new project below.

GTA’s Julio Mejia and Matt Toth return with their new single “All Caught Up” featuring Tinashe. “All Caught Up” is the is the fourth look from their debut album Good Times Ahead, which arrives next Friday, October 7th.

This track was one of the first we had finished,” Matt explains to The FADER on the “certified bop.” “It’s different than what people are probably used to hearing from us. It’s a bit more melodic and vocal driven, plus it’s just sexy.” “So obviously, Tinashe was the perfect fit for this track,” adds Julio. “We love her range, and she just killed it.”
