Today, one of the most successful songwriters in modern pop and R&B, Johntá Austin, released the first single off his long-awaited debut solo album, Love, Sex & Religion, out August 2nd. Produced by Troy Taylor and Spruill, the seductive track finds Austin crooning over an airy beat about his impassioned desire for an angelic woman.
Billboard.com exclusively premiered the single, which is independently distributed via EMPIRE. Austin’s forthcoming Love, Sex & Religion album continues to explore these three central themes over a soundtrack of provocative, potent, and powerful R&B upheld by throwback soul and rife with modern energy.
“For me, it’s a refreshing take on R&B,” said Austin. “I wanted to add something to the genre’s resurgence. There’s a theme of love throughout the songs. I’m continuing the feeling I always put inside the music, which is the beauty of romance. The song is about how desire is angelic.”
