Janet Jackson has been giving us new music leading up to the release of her forthcoming album “Unbreakable” while the singer has been giving us a variety of songs such as her lead single No Sleeep feat J.Cole and her album title track “Unbreakable’ but today, the singer gives her fans what they have been waiting for, a nice dance track.

The new song Janet debuted today is her Missy Elliott featured track “BURNITUP” which she performed  when she kicked off Unbreakable world tour Vancouver last month. Check out the song below and look out for Janet Jackson’s Unbreakable dropping Oct. 2.

I`ve decided to use this platform to celebrating some of the most impactful females of all time, so every month I`ll be putting post up a post on two females, talking about the impact they have had on me and the music industry and culture.

I want to start off the post celebrating Missy Elliott, who is truly one of the most amazing on the face of the world as she has displayed unshakable commitment to her craft and to her own truth. She fearlessly throws herself into her music allowing her listeners to connect her even more, holding nothing back. Her delivery is so sassy, soulful and raw – showcasing so much passion and personality. She is so fierce and a rare breed .

oBP.1280x720Ever since Ariana Grande made the transaction from acting to launching a pop career, she has drawn alot of comparisons to the legendary diva Mariah Carey, who she also credits as her idol, saying “the best singer on the planet”.

What actually sparked the comparisons was when she recorded a version of Carey’s song “Emotions” which is one of the hardest songs sing and actually do justice, her version was almost close to the original, she hit similar notes and also showcased her solid whistle register – which became Carey`s signature vocal register ever since she came on the music scene with her classic single “Vision Of Love” .

Pharell kicked off the 2014 BET Awards taking the stage with his University of Baes to perform “Come Get It Bae.” Pharell wasn’t the only Virgina native to represent on the main stage as he brought everybody’s favorite female rapper Missy Elliott to the stage to perform her hit pass that Dutch.

R&B songstress Faith Evans reunites with Missy Elliott on her newest single “I Deserve It” that Elliott produced with Chucky Thompson and also features on it with her protege Sharaya J. It serves as the lead single lifted Evans’ forthcoming album “Incomparable” due out later this year via Prolific Music / eOne Music.

“It’s a banger..It’s just a banger,”“It’s the perfect embodiment of being able to still maintain what people know you for and the era that you’re from — but not sound dated. That’s the best way I can put it, which is what I try do anyway” – she stated during her interview with Rated RnB.

Now if it’s one person I truly missed in music it has to be Missy Elliott,  her creativity her lyrics and her always thinking out the box when it comes to her music. In 2012, Missy dropped the Timbaland-produced singles “9th Inning” and “Triple Threat,” but since those lackluster singles have released we haven’t heard much from Missy or her long awaited album Block Party. Well in a surpise of events Missy Elliott finally spoke about what is taking her so long to release brand new music to the fans. In a video chat interview with Micheal Yo  Missy confirmed that she is working on new music saying

“I gotta feel like what I’m giving the fans is 100 percent and that it’s game-changing. I don’t just throw out microwave records, I’m just trying to make sure that what I give is 100 percent because I know that expectations is high from my fans and it’s high of myself.”

I applaud Missy for taking her time the female rap game is not how it used to be back in the 90’s and I rather Missy take her time to create a classic album rather than comeback and make an album that is wack. Check out the interview below.
