Ari Lennox has been on my radar for a couple years now and I`m beyond happy that she is finally get some shine as she recently signed to J.Cole`s label Dreamville and has just dropped her second EP titled “Pho” which is led by her smooth-groovy number “Backseat” featuring labelmate Cozz .
“Modern, relaxed, turned up soul… It’s just chill with trappy vibes reminiscent of the beautiful music from the ‘70s.” describes this 7-track EP, which is a great introduction to her as it allows her to showcase her vocals which are very reminisced of Erykah Badu – jazzy, soothing, powerful and soulfully poetical and she can sing on top of any production and create art.
Stream the EP below and if you love what you hear, head over to iTunes and purchase it.
Pierre King came on my radar back in 2012 when he released his debut album “I`m Not Rich” which was a good offering, showcasing what a talented songwriter he is with a pair of tight vocals.
Three years later the Chicago native makes his return with the release of his debut EP titled “Float” which featuring 7 tracks which are displayed in a mixture of different beats that comes together beautifully, to create a solid foundation for him to showcase his amazing vocal growth which draws alot of comparisons to Brandy who he credits as one of inspirations.
Introducing Mylezia King, she is talented up and coming artist from Wilmington, Delaware. She came on my radar last year when she shared some of her music with me, while I was not impressed with the material her vocals on the other hand had alot of potential, so I gave her some honest feedback and she took it all on board and a year later she showcasing alot of growth which is truly amazing.
She recently released two brand new tracks called “On Purpose” and “Bittersweet”, which allow her to display so much vocal growth and also sees an artist that will inspire and touch people with her music if she continues to go down this path.
The Virgin/EMI-signed London-based band Vaults have premiered their newest single titled “Lifespan” which follows up their previous singles “Cry No More” and “Premonitions” which saw them delivering strings-infused electronics tracks laced up in soulful vocals, that have captured the hearts of fans like myself.
