Mind of Mine (Deluxe Edition)Hello everyone it`s Zion here, I know I`ve been gone for quite some time but the bitch is back and ready to give you some real and honest music reviews and all that good stuff. I firstly start with congratulating Zayn on his solo debut album “Mind Of Mine” which is a very impressive project that sees him stepping out on his own and showcasing alot of maturity compared to what he used to do with his former band “One Direction”.

“There was a lot of built-up anxiety to create this thing,”  “You don’t really know what’s going to happen. So when [‘PILLOWTALK’] went out, and I saw the reaction from the fans, that took a little weight off me for a bit. Obviously, there’s still a lot of pressure. I don’t want to be a one-hit wonder, so I’ve got a lot of work to do.”Zayn recently told Complex.

The album was produced and co-written by the likes of Malay, Levi Lennox, Anthony Hannides, Michael Hannides, Joe Garrett, James Ho, Harold Lilly, among others. One of the stand-out tracks is a collaboration with female singer Kehlani, called “Wrong” which is a mellow R&B number that finds them singing about searching for love at wrong places:“Here with you ‘cause you got the right vibe, seems like you probably gotta do mine but it’s gotta be the right time. We’re only good for the night time, I see through your demeanor, baby I’m a pleaser. I go out my way to treat you but I can’t be a teacher cause I’m a problem with problems. I know who I am and I’m not no good, you can have me tonight and ever. I thought you understood, baby some people are meant to be loved and others just naked,so take what I’m willing to give and love it or hate it.”
Their voices blend well together beautifully. It is certainly better than a lot of the collaborations,I have heard this year so far. Take a listen to it below and make sure to go to your nearest music store and purchase the album as it`s worth the money, great music that showcase his amazing vocal range.

iggy-azalea-team-cover Australian rapper Iggy Azalea kicks off her new musical era with the release of her newest single called “Team” which is the lead single lifted from her  forthcoming second studio album “Digital Distortion”. “Team” features a very heavy production that samples Juvenile`s track “Back That Ass Up”, the song speaks about her needing no one but herself to be successful as she is her own team  ““And it’s all on me, yeah that’s all I be. Baby I got me, only friend I need”, while I love the confidence she does sound extremely weak on this track as she fails to be commanding over this production and lyrically she showing how average of a rapper she is, giving us some Rasheeda tease with her own persona and delivery.

meghan-trainor-watch-me-doAfter releasing her music video for her new single “No”, Meghan Trainor went on to premiere her newest track called  “Watch Me Do”  that will feature on her upcoming second studio album “Thank You”, which is slated for release on May 13th. The Ricky Reed-produced number features a very funky and soulful production which great a nice foundation for her remind haters she won’t waste her precious time on them “I’m the shhh, be quiet, I’ve been on a low-hater diet”. The song overall is alright I just wish she would come hard with her lyrics and be a little bit aggressive with her deliver, even on “No” I was left so unimpressed with her lyrical delivery and the track as it sounded so dated but I`m still rooting for her to deliver a show-stopping track that shows so much growth and display her personality alot better.

P.S I think Amerie would`ve killed this production.

corinne-bailey-rae-640x463Corinne Bailey Rae returns on the music scene like she never left and she came back sounding even more confident and strong. “Been to the Moon,” her first song in six years, it serves as the lead single lifted from her forthcoming third album “The Heart Speaks In Whispers” which arrives May 13th via Virgin Records,it features a number of notable musicians including Pino Palladino, James Gadsen, Marcus Miller, Esperanza Spalding and Moses Sumney.

“Been to the Moon”  is a funky-jazzy mid-tempo that is packed with delicate melodies and exuberant horns,it finds her singing about the lengths that individuals go to within their relationships,‘I’ve been to the moon so gently. I’ve been where you are, God help me . I’ve been to the moon and stars for you  When I was yours…’ Her vocal delivery is simply amazing to hear, she sounds so confident.

The Chris Turner-directed video features Rae in a golden jumpsuit after she has crash landed on another planet.
