BET is getting ready to air its annual award show this summer. 3x Grammy award-winning rapper Megan Thee Stallion and Dababy lead the awards this year with 7 nominations each. Drake and Cardi B are right behind them with 5 nominations.  Sister duo CholexHalle, Bruno Mars, Chris Brown, Anderson .Paak, and Chloe x Halle are the third most-nominated acts with four nods each. After going virtual last year, the BET Awards will return with a live vaccinated audience from L.A.’s Microsoft Theater on Sunday, June 27, at 8 p.m. ET/PT. Last night BET announced the official nominees for their 2019 BET awards. Set to air live from the Microsoft Theater at L.A Live on Sunday, June 23rd. Leading the pack this year is Cardi B who is nominated for 7 awards which include two for the top prize — video of the year — with her hits “Money” and “Please Me,” with Bruno Mars. Beyonce, who scored four nominations, is up for best female R&B/pop artist along with Ella Mai, H.E.R., Solange, SZA and Teyana Taylor. Check out the full list of nominees below.

Last night the 2016 BET Awards aired live at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, and as promised things were LIT! The show kicked off with a surprise performance from the Queen B herself Beyonce as she performed Freedom alongside Kendrick Lamar. Followed by many performance tributes to the great Prince including Janelle Monáe, Erykah Badu, Bilal, The Roots, Stevie Wonder, Tori Kelly, and Jennifer Hudson.

Usher also hit the stage as he performed his new single “No Limit” featuring Young Thug, and Alicia Keys who gave a one-woman performance of her new single “In Common.” New York definitely represented when Fat Joe, Remy Ma and French Montana hit the  BET Awards stage with a performance of their summer anthem “All the Way Up.” Check out all the performances below.
